The daily stroll. Maya had always enjoyed the attention her attractiveness had brought her, and she had always been an incurable flirt. Eventually, she switched to holding on to the rope, crouched low with her legs spread wide. Her belly was squeezing so hard now, that Maya would let out deep, long growls as she pushed that she didn't even think she would've been capable of making before. Finally, one contraction hit that was so strong that let out what she could only describe as a roar, and her waters broke, splattering profusely on the floor. Now the intensity increased to a pace Maya couldn't never expected, and the waves made her let out long, guttural shouts with each one. Soon she felt an intense burning sensation all around her lower lips, and knew she must be crowning, which the doula shortly confirmed. After several more excruciating contractions, the doula showed her in a mirror the top of a little head plastered with dark hair erupting from her. Maya pushed several more times before the most intense contraction yet hit her. She let out a deep long cry as her head swam with pressure, and she felt as though she was going to split in half, but she felt first the head pop free, then the shoulders, and then the whole rest of the baby abruptly shot out of her in a gush of more fluid. Later, as she was dozing happily with him, the baby feeding vigorously from her, she thought about the whole experience. As hard the end had been, it had been more than worth it. She knew she didn't want this to be the last time she carried a new life into the world.
